While the 4th of July may not be your favorite holiday, there is no denying that it is fun. It is a day of celebration and fireworks. If you want to get the best view of fireworks in the area, then the best place to be is in Naples. Here’s what you need to know about this event.
Fireworks Display at Naples Pier
The fireworks display here will start at 9PM on the 4th of July. The city is known for putting on spectacular light shows and this one will be no different. It will be about 20 minutes long and more than that it will be choreographed to music. You can sit on beautiful Naples beach and take in this wonderful event. Keep in mind that parking is limited here so people are encouraged to park downtown and walk here. If you want to sit be sure to bring your own folding chair or beach towels. If you want to make it a whole day affair then you can also catch the 4th of July parade that will be on Broad Ave South to Third Street on 5th Ave.
Marco Island Red, White & Boom!
Hosted by the Marco Island Civic Association, this is an all day beach party with activities galore for the family. Bring your chairs, coolers and beach towels to Residents Beach and enjoy activities such as the Boys vs. Girls Tug of War, sack races, “fastest kid on the beach” contest, and of course the “most patriotic swimsuit contest. Come early and stay late for the fireworks at 9:00pm over the Golf of Mexico off Resident’s Beach.
Have Your Own
While there are some restrictions on fireworks in southwest Florida, this does not mean you can’t do your own fireworks show. One of the biggest benefits of doing this on your own if you have children is that they can play with sparklers as these are not allowed at any of the 4th of July events in the area. If you do plan on doing your own event, make sure you are up on proper safety techniques so you do not get hurt while you are doing the show. The biggest thing to remember is that whoever is handling the fireworks should be sober to ensure the safety of everyone there.
